At 9,915ft Nag Tibba is the highest peak in the Shivalik Range of the lesser Himalayas. Fondly known as Learner’s Peak in the expedition world, it’s your gateway to becoming a real, young mountaineer. Venture through forests and meadows on this week-long expedition and feel the rush of reaching the summit.

everyone does their bit

The expedition starts with an acclimatisation trek where you learn to pitch tents, set up a campsite and understand the principles of LNT (leave no trace). Trekkers carry their own backpacks and share the load of supplies that would be needed in the course of the journey. Everyone pitches in and learns to share responsibilities of cooking, cleaning, firewood collection and resource management.

care and safety

Being well fed and hydrated is crucial to staying energised for the demanding days. A cook accompanies the group to help prepare wholesome and nutritious meals through the expedition. Water, soup or juice is also provided. Our instructors take care of the rest. They’re all certified outdoor experts who go through extensive training and assessment before working with us. For the comfort and special needs of girls, there is a female instructor present at all times.

travel details

Groups depart from New Delhi at 6:45am on the Dehradun Shatabdi (AC chair car). Alternately, participants can fly into Dehradun to join the program. Someone from the team will receive them at the airport. On reaching Dehradun, the journey to Yamuna Pul is in buses or jeeps. On the way back, we reach New Delhi at 10:45pm.

fitness requirements

This program might be more demanding than the usual physical activities you’re used to. We recommend a little jogging, stretching and exercise a few weeks before the departure to gain the flexibility and agility needed to truly enjoy the experience. Do this wearing the shoes you want to carry for the program—it’ll help break into them.
